South Prairie Elementary remembered 9-11 during Morning Assembly on Friday, Sept. 9th.  During the week students had colored flags & wrote notes of appreciation and thanks to honor firefighters and police officers for their service to the community.  These tokens were presented Firefighter Ward & district SRO Officer Goodman.

Sycamore Middle School had several individuals place in the finals at East Peoria, Eastside Centre Stadium.  Dion finished 5th in the 200 meter dash and Lilia finished 5th in the 100 meter hurdles and 6th in the long jump. The 8th grade boys 800 meter relay team did an outstanding job placing 4th and setting a new school record in this event. Congratulations to all of our state qualifiers and their performances.

A Sycamore Middle School student recently won an essay contest entitled “My Favorite Teacher” sponsored by Barnes and Noble. Both the student and her teacher, Chrissy Somers, received prizes in the contest. Congratulations!
